Welcome to The Works Exercise & Dance Studio

We offer quality classes and provide certified professional instructors so that we can give you a great workout every time! We welcome men and women to our studio. The first class is free.

Our studio is available for rentals, either on a single or long term basis. For more information on rentals see our rental page.

New Classes at The Works

Hoop-Dance
Kaye Anderson will help you explore your own dance in a hula hoop and the meditative aspects of hooping... all while getting a great workout! Thursday evenings 6:00 - 7:15pm, April 12 - May 17.
World Beat Master Dance Class
May 19 @ 1-3pm. Based on the World Beat format, this will include technique, floor work, understanding of intuitive movement based on 3 steps, and an hour of non-stop dance. Be prepared to work, sweat, enjoy, laugh, and have fun. Wear dance clothes, dance shoes or bare feet, bring water, and a fiery, happy attitude. Check out the poster here. Shakti Yoga
Welcome back Shakti, who taught class here years ago! Shakti Yoga is inspired by a grand vision to create a warm, open and inviting space for exploring yoga, meditation, spirit and community. Series of 4 classes for $60, or drop in for $20. Works class card holders get the first class free. Saturday mornings, 9 - 10:30am.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Jill White teaches Vinyasa Flow Yoga Tuesday evenings 8 - 9pm and Thursday afternoons 3 - 4pm. $10 per class, 2nd class free. Bring water, towel, and yoga mat (if you have one). Contact: 805-451-1118 or jillannwhite@gmail.com.

Creative Movement

with Ashby Village Executive Director Andy Gaines

Saturday afternoons — April 14, May 12, June 9 (2nd Saturday of the month) 1:00-3:00 p.m. at The Works

Creative movement is a powerful forum for activating the body and connecting with others. This fun, interactive class will allow participants of all physical levels and abilities to feel, accept and revitalize their bodies and movement. Earlier in his life, Andy Gaines received an MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and facilitated dance classes with youth, adults and the aging.

Classes can be taken individually or as a series. FREE to Ashby Village and The Works members, $10/class or $25/series for guests.
